The project consisted of the fabrication, supply and installation of round exhaust ductwork fitted with welded flanges.
The exhaust ductwork was a combination of Galvanised manufacture (External) and 316 Stainless Steel fabricated ductwork within the facility due to the corrosive nature of the exhaust air.
The project also consisted of the installation of a number of large centrifugal exhaust fans passing the contaminated exhaust air into filters and air scrubber units.
The construction schedule required that all mechanical ventilation ductwork be fabricated and installed in a very tight time frame.
The physical size and weight of each section of duct was a challenge in itself let alone the coordination and installation of duct through the building structure and then external to the building which required careful planning.
The project comprised of the full replacement of Mechanical Services plant and equipment including new mechanical services switchboards whilst maintaining minimal store disruptions. Project required Jako to replace a redundant built up air handling unit with two (2) new packaged units and supplementary in-ceiling and ceiling cassette Daikin units. Ductwork

The project entailed construction of a new high performance centre for the West Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS). The state of the art facility would provide WAIS with the technology and facilities to train high performance athletes to the levels required for competition on an international stage.
